About the RoleWe’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Value-Added Services Stream. You will lead high-impact initiatives that raise reliability, strip away complexity, and unlock delivery speed.

You’ll work side by side with the Head of Engineering and teams in our Value Added Services stream:
Finance Engineering → powering payment processing, reconciliation, and reporting with flawless accuracy
Risk Systems → building fraud prevention and risk tools that keep merchants and money safe
Billing → running invoicing, subscriptions, and fee management at scale — fast, accurate, reliable
Banking → integrating with global partners, routing payments, managing settlements, and keeping liquidity flowing
Finance Engineering → powering payment processing, reconciliation, and reporting with flawless accuracy
Risk Systems → building fraud prevention and risk tools that keep merchants and money safe
Billing → running invoicing, subscriptions, and fee management at scale — fast, accurate, reliable
Banking → integrating with global partners, routing payments, managing settlements, and keeping liquidity flowing
What you’ll be doing
- Partitioning and sharding databases to keep core payments and other critical systems fast and reliable
- Scaling and modernizing antifraud systems to stay ahead of the bad actors
- Building a new billing system and transitioning the subscriptions engine to a B2B model, handling 100,000+ subscriptions monthly
- Hardening our API Gateway for resilience and DDoS protection
You’re a great fit if you have
- 7+ years of experience in engineering with a strong track record in ownership and leadership roles
- Proficiency in one of the programming languages: Go, Kotlin, or Python
- A track record of leading complex, cross-team system deliveries
- Deep expertise in system design across services and data stores
- Strong skills in debugging, observability, CI/CD, and cloud fundamentals
- Clear communication with both technical and business stakeholders
- Sharp judgment, tech-agnostic mindset, and data-driven decision making
