Order insight (OI)
Order Insight (OI), previously known as Visa Merchant Purchase Inquiry (VMPI), is a tool that enables merchants to prevent Visa chargebacks by providing transaction details to card issuers in real time.
When a cardholder contacts their issuing bank to dispute a transaction, the bank can access detailed information provided by the merchant through OI. This includes company details, customer information, order data, and product descriptions. By giving cardholders immediate access to this context, merchants can help them recognize legitimate purchases and resolve confusion before a chargeback is filed.
