Before MiCA, the EU had 3,000+ virtual-asset service providers. So far, the ESMA register lists 370+ CASP entries. And Solidgate is now one of them.

We’re proud to announce that Solidgate* has been authorized as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
The license is passported across the European Economic Area. One license. 30 countries. One regulatory standard.
It’s a milestone for Solidgate, and a deliberate choice about how we build: on our own license, under our own controls, at our own pace.

Why stablecoins matter

Global commerce never stops. TradFi still does: for cut-off times, weekends and bank holidays.
Stablecoins change that. They are always on, settle in seconds, and move across borders by design. For the first time in decades, cross-border money can keep pace with the business it serves.

Why we hold our own license

There are two ways into stablecoins. You can plug into someone else’s license and work within its limits: its risk appetite, roadmap, and pace. Or you can earn your own and set the standard yourself.
We chose the second. That choice gives us control over how client assets are held, how risk is managed, and how fast we scale.
It also shapes what we build. The stablecoin capabilities we develop sit inside Solidgate, governed by our own compliance framework, not borrowed from someone else’s.

Built compliance-first

Earning the authorization took months of preparation and regulatory scrutiny of how we operate. The review covered governance and management, capital, custody arrangements, anti-money laundering controls, and operational resilience.
Solidgate builds compliance-first, and the license confirms our framework meets the EU’s requirements for crypto-asset service providers.
Holding our own license changes where we stand. MiCA sets a high bar for crypto-asset services in Europe, and earning this license took work across the whole team. It proves we build compliance-first. Now we build on it. Stablecoins are the next global rail, and we’re moving early to make Solidgate part of it.” – Stefan Dzhenkov, Head of APMs and Stablecoins, Solidgate

What the license means for Solidgate clients

Alongside existing fiat payment services, the license enables:
  • Custody: enterprise-grade safekeeping of stablecoins on behalf of clients
  • Exchange: bespoke exchange between fiat and stablecoins
  • Payments: stablecoin payouts and cross-border payments
  • Settlements: stablecoin settlements for processing revenue
Risk warning: Crypto-assets carry risk of loss.
